에어버스 : 미래의 항공기 컨셉을 제시하다

에어버스는 프랑스 툴루즈 에 본사를 두고 있는, 세계최대의 상업용 항공기 제작회사이다.

프랑스어 발음으로는 “에르뷔스”라고 읽으며,  1970년, 구명인 ‘에르뷔스 엥뒤스트리’로 시작되었고, 2001년 에 현재의 회사 이름으로 변경되었다.

최근 에어버스사는 미래의 항공기 컨셉을 담은 동영상을 온라인에 배포하였는데, 비행중 하늘을 볼 수 있도록 설계한 점과 디지털 기술들이 총 접목된 메타버스 개념과 기능들도 포함되어 있는 것을 볼 수 있다.

에어버스 홍보 자료에 의하면 앞으로 40년뒤인 2050년에는 투명 여객기 시대가 도래하며, 이용 승객도 90억명에 달할 것으로 예상됐다. 2050년이 되면 여객기들이 모두 투명하게 제조돼 기내에서 밖의 히말라야 등 고산 풍경을 즐길수 있으며, 특히 `지능형 선실 막’이 설치돼 있을 경우 창밖 4면의 풍경을 360도로 돌아가며 볼 수 있다.

 

또 승객들의 인체에서 나오는 열기를 여객기에 필요한 에너지로 사용하기 위해 충전할 수 있고, 좌석은 승객의 체형에 맞게 조절되도록 설계된다. 1등석, 비즈니스석, 이코노미석 등 좌석 구분은 사라지고, 대신 승객 개인별 특성과 취향을 고려해 좌석 배정이 이뤄진다는 설정도 특이하다.
